Lee Jaram’s Pansori Series: Background

Lee Jaram, a leading pansori singer, has been known for masterfully performing her original scores of “Sacheonga” and “Ukchukga”, as well as adding a touch of pansori to Ernest Hemingway’s magnum opus “The Old Man and the Sea.” She holds a Guinness World Record for being the youngest musician to complete an eight-hour performance of “Chunhyangga”, in 1999. At her Busan performance, Lee will present the main portion of “Sugungga,” one of five surviving pansori repertories.
